Turtle Fine Art began in the 1980s in Gloucestershire, moving to the beautiful town of Rye in 2001.
Rye and the surrounding area has an exciting art community creating some really compelling works of art.

The gallery is very easy to find; it is sited just below the Landgate, originally one of the gateways to the town. When it was built in 1386, Rye was almost surrounded by the sea.

We try to source the very best of what's on offer locally and throughout Britain and exhibit this along with some period work of great quality by artists from the past.

We are not too fussy about the media used as long as the work is engaging and thought provoking. You will find an eclectic mix of paintings, etchings, bronzes and ceramics, many reflecting this lovely corner of England, the sea, the marshes and the wildlife.

The work shown in this website is just the tip of the iceberg! Our stock of contemporary and period pictures is constantly changing. If you would like to see more, or perhaps see something again, images of current work can be sent by e-mail. Just contact us...

The enjoyment of art ought to be an unstuffy and approachable pleasure and we look forward to meeting you if you decide to come and pay us a visit.

The gallery is open from 10am to 5pm every day except Sundays and Tuesdays, or by prior appointment. Its best to telephone if coming from a distance.

We have at least two exhibitions a year, usually with one exhibitor. It’s a great opportunity to meet the artist and we will gladly put you on the invitation list if you would like to receive one for the next show…click here

The current exhibition, below, will be followed by some great new landscapes and figurative work by different artists, some of them new to the gallery.
